  • Barbados
Roaming around Barbados—or "buttin' bout," as the islanders say—you can explore natural caverns, flower forests and the bustling city of Bridgetown. Stop in a local rum shop or treat yourself to afternoon high tea in true British tradition. Take an excursion up to Gun Hill Signal Station, offering spectacular views in every direction.
  • Curacao
The Queen Emma Floating Bridge swings aside as you sail into Curacao, with pastel-colored buildings dotting the port town of Willemstad. A delightful mix of cultures— from Dutch and Spanish to English and East Indian—Curacao is as friendly as it is beautiful. Take a sip of the orange liqueur named for the island, stroll along the picturesque Handelskade waterfront, and visit the floating market where boats gather from around the tropics, laden with exotic wares.
  • Martinique
The garden island of Martinique is abloom with orchids, hibiscus and a rainbow of tropical flowers. Known as the "France of the Caribbean," Martinique features sidewalk cafes and fashionable boutiques. Take a walking tour of charming Fort-de-France, lounge in the sand at Anse-Mitan beach, and get a fish's-eye view of Martinique's marine life on a snorkeling adventure.
  • San Juan
In Puerto Rico's enchanting capital city, you can explore the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan and the centuries-old El Morro fortress. Take a tour of a local rum distillery, shop for hand-crafted works of art or simply relax in a tree-shaded park. In the evening, enjoy a guided drive through the city, attend colorful stage shows with lively Latin music and try your luck in the casinos along the glittering Condado—known as the Monte Carlo of the tropics.
  • St. Thomas
The busiest cruise port in the world, St. Thomas is a shopper's paradise with duty-free bargains and exotic, imported treasures. You can tour Bluebeard's Castle and play on the soft, white sand at Magens Bay, considered one of the best beaches in the world. For spectacular views of the island, take a ride up to Mountain Top, and for a look at life under the sea, visit Coral World. Three-mile-long Palancar Reef and other underwater coral forests fringe the island, abounding with vibrantly hued tropical fish and beckoning experienced divers as well as first-time snorkelers. A short trip inland leads to the Mayan and Toltec ruins of San Gervasio, dating back to 300 A.D. Cozumel is also the gateway for excursions to the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza.
  • Fort Lauderdale
Along with its seemingly endless strip of palm-fringed beaches, Fort Lauderdale features chic restaurants and stylish shops. Take a leisurely stroll along fashionable Las Olas Boulevard, lined with gas-lighted street lamps, and board a sightseeing boat for a cruise through the city's canals, with more waterways than Venice. Just up the coast is the cosmopolitan city of Palm Beach, and in the opposite direction, lively Miami and South Beach.
